| Stop Press: The Association is sorry to hear that Rainer Vuorinen has to go into hospital for an operation during the week of the show so there have been some inevitable changes to the published schedule (subject to KC approval). Borzois and Breeders groups (all three days) will now be judged by Hans Lehtinen, Keith Nathan will judge Pembroke Welsh Corgis while Howard Ogden will judge King Charles Spaniels. Kooikerhondje, Bolognese, Maltese will be judged by one of Rainer’s fellow Finnish all-rounders, Johan Juslin. Full entry details in our Dogs and Dog World on 29th May |

Free entry to the show and free car parking for exhibitors is again a feature of Southern Counties. Dates for Southern Counties 2009 are:
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 5th, 6th and 7th:Friday 5th June (Gundogs and Utility)
Saturday 6th June (Hounds, Toys and Terriers)
Sunday 7th June (Working and Pastoral)

Schedules for Southern Counties Championship Show will be posted to all last years exhibitors and are available by post from 1st March. The closing date for hard copy entries is 21st April and for on-line entries 28th April. Entry fees have not been increased and are £22.00 for the first entry for breeds with Challenge Certificates and £12.50 for non CC breeds. Subsequent entries are £3.50. There is no entrance fee or car parking fee for exhibitors and their friends and family travelling in the same vehicle. Credit Card/Debit Card entries will be accepted as usual but only if entries are made on-line.
All class numbers, judges and an entry form will be printed in the canine press well before the closing of entry date. Exhibitors are especially asked to take great care in completing their entry forms as they will be unable to change any details once the entry has been received.
There is a Special Charity Stakes classes each day. Prize money for the Charity Stakes has been kindly donated by our printers, Fosse Data and all receipts from the classes will be donated to Staffordshire Bull terrier rescue. Southern Counties have pledged to match this sum so the donation will, in effect, be £7.00 for every dog entered. Other stakes classes have been kindly sponsored by Arden Grange with prizes of Arden Grange vouchers for their range of complete foods and GL Events (Snowden's Marquees) who are providing cash prizes for the Veteran Stakes classes. Southern Counties also hosts heats for Purina/Dog World Pup of the year and Pet Plan Junior Stakes competitions.
